  • Installation of BoatBuckle G2 Ratcheting Tie-Downs on Shoreland'r Trailer for Lund Angler SS
  • You can still install the tie-downs, but since the installation hardware used for the BoatBuckle G2 Tie-Downs # IMF14220 is 3/8 inch in diameter, the 1 inch transom strap holes on your trailer will be too large to install these tie-downs. The best solution to installing the # IMF14220 is to drill a new hole to match the size of the BoatBuckle installation hardware. I have attached the installation instructions for the BoatBuckle G2 tie-downs for you. The # IMF14220 has a safe working...

  • How To Choose the Correct BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Tie-Downs
  • In order to secure your 1994 Regal Ventrua 6.8 with the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps you will need to use one tie down at the bow and two tie downs at the transom. For this you will need both part # IMF14220 and part # IMF08893. This will give you a break strength rating of 7,500 lbs (2,500 lbs per tie down) therefore will be sufficient. We also have the Mounting Brackets part # IMF14254 if the tie down points on the trailer are not where you need them to be. I...

  • The BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratchet Transom Tie-Downs part # IMF14256 can be installed in a number of different ways whether it's with a pre-installed bracket from the factory, drilling a hole into the frame yourself, or using universal brackets like the Mounting Brackets for BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps part # IMF14254. Unfortunately, they don't offer trailer specific brackets for these tie-down straps so if you're having issue you can either modify the brackets...

  • Can the BoatBuckle Tie Down Strap IMF15437 Be Trimmed Down if Needed?
  • The BoatBuckle Trolling Motor Tie-Down - 2" x 13-1/2" # IMF15437 uses seat-belt-quality polyester webbing. With that being said, polyester webbing can be sealed using an open flame, so if you need to cut off excess material, it will not start fraying and fall apart. I do need to mention that doing this will most likely void the warranty, just something to be aware of.

  • Could the BoatBuckle Cargo Tie Downs # IMF08893 Secure an ATV in a Trailer
  • You could use the BoatBuckle Cargo Tie Downs # IMF08893 to secure an ATV to a trailer. These have more than enough capacity at 833 lbs of capacity per strap. These permanently mount to your trailer with 1 bolt, mounting hardware is included. The buckles are sewn to the strap so there wouldn't be a way to reverse the direction the hooks face.

  • How to Assemble the Boat Buckle Kwik-Lok Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF13111
  • That is an excellent question and one that I am sure many people have regarding their tie-down straps. Quite often people buy tie-down straps and use them maybe a handful of times throughout the year. If something goes wrong and they need to replace, or in your case clean, the straps, it can be tricky trying to reassemble them. Especially since there are many different methods. I had some of these straps in stock so I pulled a set and made a video for you. Unfortunately Boat Buckle does...

  • Do I Need to Mount the Boats on the Crossbars of my Malone MegaSport Trailer
  • I suppose you could use the Malone MegaSport Kayak Trailer - 86" Crossbars - 1000 lbs # MPG535 in this manner, but I don't necessarily recommend it since it's just going to scratch up the boats and might potentially obscure the lights and license plate. Typically we recommend using a kayak carrier on the crossbars to carry your boats since this is the safest and provides the easiest loading and unloading option for your kayaks; a good low cost option to protect the hulls of the boats...

  • Bow Buckle Installation Question
  • I would just check to make sure at the start of installing the BoatBuckle Pro Series Kwik-Lok Bow Tie-Down Strap # IMF18741 that you have ran the looped end of your strap from behind the buckle under the boat frame. Once that looped end is brought up, wrapping around the frame, bring the hook through the looped end and attach to your boat anchor loop. If you've installed it in this order and the latch is still facing toward the bow, it would be worth returning your strap where you purchased....

  • Can RodBuckle Retractable Fishing Rod Tie-Down Strap be Mounted Flat on a Boat Deck
  • The strap on RodBuckle Retractable Fishing Rod Tie-Down Strap # IMF14200 needs to pull out straight from the mounting bracket or it can get bound up and also could wear out the strap. Technically you could mount it flat but you run the risk of it not performing correctly or damage to the strap. There isn't an adapter that allows it to be mounted flat on the deck and still have the strap pull out correctly.

  • How to Keep a Canoe form Sliding Back and Forth on a Roof Rack on a 2012 Hyundai Veloster
  • Proper bow and stern tie-downs will keep your canoe from sliding back and forth on a roof rack. First, when the canoe is placed on the roof rack, you should secure it to the roof rack crossbars using tie-down straps that wrap around the canoe from one side to the other. these will keep the canoe from sliding side to side. Next, you will want to be sure your bow and stern tie-downs are properly situated. They should both be pulling down and in. If you have both bow and stern tie-downs...
